Scientist Chastises TVA For Considering Mox

Dr. Edwin Lyman of the Union of Concerned Scientists took exception to plans the TVA has to burn weapons grade plutonium in its civilian power reactors.  Lyman’s views come as customers for a $5 billion Department of Energy Plant disappeared and the DOE  began to push the TVA to take the controversial fuel. Lyman will testify about the unfinished Mox plant at the President’s Blue Ribbon Commission on our nuclear future as it meets in Washington starting Monday.
