Wired: Report: Secret Space Plane Likely an Orbiting Spy

After last month’s launch of X-37B, the U.S. Air Force’s secret space plane, some speculated that it might be a prototype for an orbiting bomber. Others thought it could be a weapons platform used to take out enemy satellite assets. Russian military officials even pressed Moscow to begin work on its own space arsenal. British press insinuated the U.S. was testing new laser weapons systems.

A new report from the Secure World Foundation, however, claims that the space plane will likely be used by the American Military to spy from Earth’s orbit. The pentagon has occasionally used the Space Shuttle to put spy satellites in orbit, but with the shuttle’s retirement in 2010 the X-37B may now serve this purpose.

DCBureau.org Releases Investigation into Events of 9.11.01 and Documentary Marking 8th Anniversary of Attacks

"Unsafe at Any Altitude" examines exactly what happened before and immediately after 9.11.01

WASHINGTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–To mark the 8th anniversary of the 9.11.01 terrorist attacks, the award winning investigative staff of DCBureau.org released a special investigation into what happened at Dulles International Airport the night before the hijacking of Flight 77, which was crashed into the Pentagon. The report reveal details of how the hijackers tried to place weapons aboard the airplane the night before the hijacking, along with a moment by moment account of what happened inside Dulles Airport.

In addition to the four-part investigation, a new documentary entitled Unsafe At Any Altitude was released on DCBureau.org. Appearing in the documentary is Eric Gill, the security supervisor at Dulles who actually stopped the hijackers from using an airport worker’s pass to get to the aircraft the night before.

The documentary reports that a top Saudi funder of Islamic causes had moved to the same hotel as the Dulles hijackers. When the FBI tried to interview the funder, he faked a heart attack. He was allowed to leave the United States before being questioned about why he had changed hotels.

The newly released documentary features airport workers who witnessed the events of the evening before and the morning of 9/11. They tell the story of how – instead of trying to find witnesses – the FBI was more interested in blaming airport screeners for the security failures. The DCBureau.org investigation also reveals that one key witness was deported almost immediately from the United States.

Unsafe At Any Altitude also reveals for the first time how the US government employed and protected a Lebanese criminal family who pretended to be Libyan terrorists in the 1980s. A former captain in the Amal militia who hijacked two airplanes in one week, reveals on camera that it was his boss, the current head of the Lebanese Parliament, who ordered the hijackings of four planes, including TWA 835, and who allowed Hezbollah to pass through Amal checkpoints to blow-up the Marine Barracks in Beirut in October 1983. After working for the CIA, the criminal gang was resettled inside the United States.

The Pentagon’s War on America: Toxic Bureaucracy: Burned in Effigy

The buffer zone program around military installations to protect endangered species was never part of the Pentagon’s environmental law exemption efforts, which were essentially dead once Ray DuBois, the former Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Installations and Environment, left office. (Even one-time House Armed Services Military Readiness Subcommittee Chairman Joel Hefley, a Colorado Republican, voiced opposition to any further legal revisions before leaving Congress in 2006.)
