What is RSS?

RSS (Rich Site Summary) is a technology used by millions of people to keep track of their favorite website, news, or whatever is current and important to them (DCBureau.org?). Many news sites, blogs and various other kinds of publishers syndicate their content as an RSS feed to the masses.

What do I need to do to read an RSS Feed? RSS Feed Readers and News Aggregators?

It's pretty simple: and RSS reader. A Feed Reader or a News Aggregator will allow you to grab the RSS feeds from around the web and display them for you to read and use whenever you want.

There are a lot of good readers out there, but a few good places to start include:  My Yahoo, Bloglines, and Google Reader. You can also try MyYahoo, MyGoogle and MyMSN.

Once you have your Feed Reader, it's just a matter of finding sites that syndicate their content and adding their RSS feed to your Feed Reader. A lot of sites may display a small icon with the acronyms RSS, XML, or RDF to let you know a feed is available.

Where can I find an RSS feed on this site?
I'm glad you asked. There are a couple of places to find feeds on our site:
  1. On the right column of every page
  2. On the top bar next to the search button
  3. In Your Browser

Don’t want to Use an RSS Reader? Email is an Option.

If the above explanation was just too mych, then don’t worry we have a simle email option availible.

Here at DC Bureau we're aware that not everyone is into RSS thing, so we've placed a link at the very top of every page where you can enter your email address and get regular email summaries of our latest posts. You can unsubscribe at any time and your email will be kept private and not used for any other purposes than to send these daily updates.
